Presentation of Congress

Within the scope of the 27th National Internal Medicine Congress, organized by the Turkish Society of Internal Medicine Specialists and held in Bafra, TRNC, on 8–12 October 2025, our paper titled “Scenario Writing and AR/VR Development Training in Disaster Nursing Education: Experiences and Outputs of the ECoDN-HUB Project”, presented by our project coordinator Prof. Dr. Zeynep Özer, was evaluated as successful by the jury and was granted the Presentation Award. This award has strengthened the national scientific visibility of the ECoDN-HUB project and clearly demonstrated the value of our innovative AR/VR-based disaster nursing education model.

Within the Nursing Scientific Program of the 27th National Internal Medicine Congress, organized by the Turkish Society of Internal Medicine Specialists and held in Bafra, TRNC, on 8–12 October 2025, our paper titled “Scenario Writing and AR/VR Development Training in Disaster Nursing Education: Experiences and Outputs of the ECoDN-HUB Project” was presented as an oral presentation by our project coordinator, Prof. Dr. Zeynep Özer. The presentation shared with participants the scenario-writing approach developed to strengthen disaster nursing competencies, the AR/VR-based educational materials, and the innovative educational outputs of the ECoDN-HUB project. The paper was evaluated as successful by the congress scientific committee and was awarded the Best Presentation Award. This achievement has enhanced the national scientific visibility of our project and highlighted once again the importance of digital educational practices in the field of disaster nursing. The study titled “Enhancing Disaster Nursing Competencies through AR/VR Technologies: The ECoDN-HUB Project” was presented as an oral presentation by our project coordinator, Prof. Dr. Zeynep Özer, at the International Conference on Information Technology for Higher Education (ICITHE-25) held in Ankara on 8–9 August 2025. During the presentation, the enhancement of disaster nursing competencies, AR/VR-based educational content, and the innovative contribution of scenario writing were shared with international participants. Our presentation received significant attention at the congress and increased the international visibility of our project. We congratulate our project team and our project coordinator, Prof. Dr. Zeynep Özer.

Prof. Dr. Zeynep Özer, faculty member of Akdeniz University Faculty of Nursing, delivered a scientific presentation at the International Conference on Disaster Management (ICDM-25), organized by ASAR and held on 26–27 December 2025 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, in a hybrid format. The presentation entitled “Enhancing Practices and Strengthening Core Competencies in Disaster Nursing through the Learning HUB” focused on an innovative educational approach aimed at strengthening core competencies in disaster nursing. The study introduced the Learning HUB model, supported by Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR)-based educational tools, emphasizing digital transformation in disaster nursing education. The presented work contributes significantly to disaster preparedness, professional competency development, and the integration of innovative technologies into healthcare education.
